21st Century Learning and Workforce ReadinessWhat are 21 Century Skills?
21st Century Skills are the set of very important skills students need to succeed academically, in the workforce and in life during this century. These include Learning and Innovation Skills such as: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, problem solving and innovation. It also includes Digital Literacy Skills such as: information media and technology literacy. When speaking of 21st Century Skills, it is imperative to highlight the 4Cs. What are the 4Cs? The 4Cs are critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity. These are some of the most important skills that our students need in order to be successful in the ever-changing future. 21st Century Skills and the 4Cs played an important role in my research and Capstone Project because I attempted to embed them into all of the Guided Reading lessons, in order to set my student s up for academic success, as well as, their future success in the workforce and in life in general.
