Design Process

Logo  Design 
Step 1.  Decide what the logo should say,
What is the content? Math
What do I want the students to do?  Talk
What am I providing?  Tools
Step 2. Who is my audience?  Primary Teachers Picture of Kids
Step 3. What colors should I use? 
A. Letters: Blue to represent the sky
B. Primary Colors: Dark blue for readability, interest, and calmness, and green for variation and growth.  Yellow for happiness and the center point.

This research will explore how technology and using student collaborative groups might successfully provide all teachers with:
  1. Equal access to the subject content and empower students to negotiate for understanding.
  2. Develop strategies that will support student collaboration using a slide deck and screen-cast to present a math talk.
  3. Develop technical training to better utilize underused portions of software in combination with application tools available to create interactive video and digital games.

 Background and Need

California Common Core State Standards Mathematics Electronic Edition (2010, modified 2013) states, “Mathematically proficient students start by explaining to themselves the meaning of a problem and looking for entry points to its solution. In the state of California, less than 13 percent of graduating third graders can think logically and express their thoughts in order to solve a math word problem (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP, 2017).
