The Magic of AI is upon us and while as of July 2024, many have strong feelings about the authenticity and accuracy of AI generated content, one thing for sure is that it has the potential to help teachers save a ton of time in research and planning.
Below, is the process that I went through to assess my learners but is based on the criteria that my students and I co-constructed. I encourage you to explore MagicSchool.ai and Eduaide.ai to see what they have to offer. These sites will allow you to add your own learning intentions and success criteria to generate rubrics and other exciting tools to use with your students. Doesn't hurt to take a peak! Once we co-constructed the success criteria on the whiteboard in the classroom, my students engaged with the content in the textbook, outside readings and videos. I had students review the success criteria, which informed the rubric. Then they responded to the prompt they were given at the beginning of the lesson. Once they finished, they self and peer assessed their work with the rubric. They were, then given their summative grade for their writing.
