Rubrics and other measures for Assessing AgencyOne of the challenges of trying to promote agency is that it can be difficult to assess. In some ways it's in the "eye of the beholder". For our team, what was essential was reflecting on our practice and assessing whether our actions and language were supporting the development of agency in our students. Then, the students began to see themselves as capable and could self-assess for agentic behaviors. Here are some tools we found helpful:
