Standards and Competencies

Student Inquiry is one of the most powerful ways for students to take ownership of their learning and develop skills that are needed in their 21st-century lives. In order for students to conduct their own inquiries, they must conduct their own research. State and national standards are clear that, in addition to content, students need to have research embedded in their education.

The links to the right of this webpage will supply you with the following information and details:
  • Common Core State Standards: the Common Core ELA standards that connect to Reading/Researching with Inquiry
  • 21st Century Skills: standards for 21st Century Learning and Workforce Readiness as well as the ISTE Standards (International Society for Technology in Education, 2016)
  • TPACK: explanation of the TPACK model and how it compares with the SAMR model
  • History-Social Science Frameworks: standards and frameworks specific to History-Social Science
