To meet the demands of the new economic reality, technological advancements, and the inter-cultural global community, the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U, 2007) has defined ten high-impact educational practices to promote “deep-level processing” in a their report College Learning for a New Global Century.  Almost all of the ten practices involve collaboration of some kind and the real-world application of knowledge.
