Apart from paper assessments and observations, google forms can be used to assess and easily gather data

Google forms can be used to create surveys to get an idea of what students feel about their learning as well as to assess actual student learning and gather quantitative or qualitative data.

This allowed me to easily gather qualitative data and see how my students felt about their engagement.
