Personal Profile
When you find your passion and share it with others, you make the world a better place. I am so honored to be a part of a team of educators that is able to facilitate and support learning each and every day! I currently coordinate Napa Valley Unified's Advanced Learner Programs and Services and support new and experienced teachers district-wide. With many years of experience working with all types of learners, my biggest strength is in identifying and creating resources for busy teachers, making connections, uniting teams, and listening and layering communication to support and set everyone up for success.
Reflections on the Project
Together we are better! The ALPS Project Zone was created with both the teacher and student in mind to set everyone up for success! Great project based learning takes just the right amount of scaffolding to help keep all learners moving forward. It is also important that any student or teacher has equitable access to these opportunities. I am most proud of this project because it is an example of what can be done when you work as a team. We all have strengths and striving areas, but together we highlight the strengths that we possess and create a synergy that multiplies opportunities for all. This masters program was a family effort. I am so thankful for their love, support, and laughter! Thank you to my 9 year old son for putting himself to bed each Thursday night so that his dad and I could attend our online classes.
Lasting Learnings from the Program
21st century teaching and learning is all about creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. I am most thankful to our program for giving us the opportunity to become proficient in 21st century technology tools and the ability collaborate with colleagues and instructors to share new learnings and move forward both personally and professionally.
