During this action research project I used numerous standards. As teachers we must meet California Common Core State Standards. Those were addressed during the two rounds of research. In writing their Cesar Chavez biography and their animal reports students address the writing standards. Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. Introduce a topic and group related information together; include illustrations when useful to aiding comprehension. In addition to the Common Core Standards I also used the 4 C's model. The 4 C's model, stands for Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking, and Creativity. My students had to use all of these skills in order to create their Cesar Chavez biography, oral presentation; as well as in creating their animal report and goole slide presentation. TPACK was also used in my action research. TPACK is a balance of technology, pedagogy, and content. I made connections to the content by using pedagogy skills and by bringing in technology to tie it all together. I also used the ISTE standards; ISTE stands for International Society for Technology in Education. I focused on the standard 5 for educators which states: Designer Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.
