Engaging in Spanish With Digital Tools Learn More

Keeping Students Engaged During Spanish Language Arts Instruction As a fourth grade teacher in a Spanish dual immersion school, I wanted to know if the implementation of digital tools would help increase student engagement during instruction in Spanish. Students enrolled in a two-way immersion school are expected to leave the program fluent and literate in Spanish and English. This goal becomes more challenging as students show less interest in learning and applying the Spanish language as they get older. With the changing times, educators have to also evolve and incorporate different teaching strategies and tools that may engage and help grasp students’ interests. I started with Google classroom and Google slides first. Then I slowly began to implement other tools.
Standards
In my Capstone I focused mainly on the Common Core State Standards for Fourth Grade Spanish Language Arts in general (Reading, Foundational Skills, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language).
