The Along tool is very intuitive program to use and provides detailed how-to videos and tech support for teachers, students, and administration. All participating mentors were trained on the Along relationship-building tool and software by an Along Content and Support Specialist before starting my study. The Along specialist instructed mentors to log into the software and create an account. Once logged on, mentors were taught how to create a student roster, sign students up, and utilize the interactive Along messaging tools of video, texting, and audio. Mentors trained on how to utilize the structures of the Along reflection tool to document or journal their interactions with mentees after each session.
