Innovating Teacher Practices in Mathematics with Coding and Robotics.
In this study, my inspirations and intentions were to get a closer look at the practices of using computing and robotics in the mathematics classroom with relation to student engagement and its implications. It is no a secret that mathematics tends to be a challenging subject for most students while it is also one of the most important worldwide. Thus, innovating math with the purpose of making it more understandable and accessible to students is always both a challenge and a risk worth undertaking. Below, please view three anecdotal videos from three of my students who give their perspective to their experiences with coding and robotics.

Trinchero Winery Fieldtrip & 2019 RoboPlay Challenge at UC Davis: Racing and Automotive
These are a set of pictures and videos corresponding to a robotics competition and a field trip. First, you see a gallery of pictures from the 2019 RoboPlay Challenge Competition at UC Davis. Here you will see multiple pictures depicting students working on the challenges, collaborating as they find the solutions, problem solving as they encountered setback and learning and growing together as they worked as a team.
Afterwards, there are three videos demonstrating how they worked according to previous description of their performance. VOHS Robotics teams did a great job in working at the challenges and adapting to the environment surrounding them. The settings are at their working space and the competition tables.
Finally, the forth video shows an automated robot that stocks and warehouses pallets of wine systematically at the Trinchero Family Winery. Then, below, are two photos of a guided tour of the winery where students experienced and learned more about Trinchero's automated system to bottling and warehousing their product.
During the tour, we made a quick stop to see how the automated system is monitored from the computer screen.
