TPACK
The TPACK model is a very important representation of the importance of teaching in this new digital age we are living in. TPACK incorporates Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge where they overlap to take into account how they interact with each other to ultimately encounter the "sweet spot" in the middle. This "sweet spot" is where all components of the TPACK interact with one another to create the most meaningful educational experiences for student learning. Incorporating all three of them, is a very challenging endeavor but it is definitely not impossible.
There are many models of the TPACK that demonstrate different aspects of learning and functionality. The picture at the top right incorporates how TPACK can be seen in a different perspective. In this case, the model shows different student and educational aspects like students, their experiences, resources, objectives, attitude and teacher trainings. These are important aspects of learning because they are imperative to teacher planning and student learning and success. Furthermore, the TPACK model will be the nucleus of math instruction and learning. Following the TPACK model above, I have been already looking and working with resources, attending multiple teacher trainings during the school year and now in the summer, provided experiences for students to be engaged and attend school, change or update my objectives with the vision to incorporate the coding and robotics in the mathematics classroom, and finally, changing the attitude of comfort and anger to a growth mindset and innovative outlook to teaching and learning. |
