Dr. Punya Mishra eloquently explains in his presentation for Microsoft "Introduction to TPACK" how the TPACK model represents the relationship of technology with pedagogy and content within context. According to Dr. Mishra technology changes how we teach (pedagogy) and what we teach (content) and the contexts (environment) in which teaching and learning happens.
Dr. Mishra expresses the importance of Context within the TPACK model. Context refers to the learning environment where the writing takes place. Technology enhances the writing environment within the classroom. There is more freedom for individual learning styles. For example, some of my students write independently, while other students work together on a writing project. Every 30 minutes, I pull a group of students to our writer's workshop table. Struggling writers receive more individual help.
The computer is not baby-sitting. With web tools like Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, Quill and NoREdInk, students are receiving individualized assistance while I work with other students.

After some online searching, I found several writing platforms and digital literacy tools that were easy on my wallet and kind to my technological skills. I created the infographic for easy reference during my lesson planning.
Next, I decided how I was going to use the digital tools and devices to teach the content of my writing program. For example, if I planned to teach poetry, I used Storybird,com. If I planned to teach graphic novel writing, I used Pixton.com.
