Instructional Materials & How-Tos

During the course of my research and the development of my Capstone Project, I was greatly influenced and inspired by the Oracy Toolkit created by the San Diego County Office of Education. This invaluable resource provided me with a comprehensive set of tools and strategies to enhance oral language development and communication skills among English language learners (ELL) and beyond.
The Oracy Toolkit served as a guiding light, offering evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to empower ELL students in the classroom. It emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing environment where students can freely express themselves and engage in meaningful discussions. The practical ideas and activities provided in the toolkit were instrumental in shaping my understanding of the significance of oral language in the overall learning process.
By incorporating the insights and methodologies from the Oracy toolkit into my Capstone Project, I was able to design workshops that fostered an inclusive and supportive learning environment. These workshops not only focused on empowering ELL students but also promoted family engagement, recognizing the pivotal role parents play in their child's education.
