TPACK
Technology, Pedagogical And Content Knowledge, also known as TPACK, is a model where not only pedagogical knowledge and content knowledge are present, but it also includes technology knowledge as well. Education today is very different because of the rapid growth of technology. Educators are facing the challenge of keeping students engaged in this technological driven world. Teachers must be able to successfully integrate technology into their lessons.
While conducting this action research on using digital tools to engage students in reading, it became clear that incorporating technology provides a platform for students to actively engage in collaboration and communication. It is necessary to provide students with opportunities to collaborate, communicate and think critically so that they can be prepared for the 21st century. However, this is a challenging task because teachers are often lacking proper training and some find technology a bit daunting. The ability to seamlessly integrate technology should be a must for all teachers. It also models for students how to be well prepared for this new digital age. |
