TPACK
"At the heart of good teaching with technology are three core components: content, pedagogy, and technology, plus the relationships among and between them." (Koehler & Mishra, 2009)
As technology has become an integral part of our society, its incorporation into our schools is a necessary and important part of our students' education and preparation for future careers.
Whether you contribute to the 2.5% who are technological innovators, or find yourself on the other side of the continuum (a laggard), it is essential that all educators think about the TPACK model when incorporating technology into ones curriculum.

TPACK stands for "Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge." This framework is meaningful for educators because it takes all aspects of your classroom into consideration. The first thing most teachers think about first is the CK- Content Knowledge: What do I want to teach? From there, we think about the PK-Pedagogical Knowledge: How will I teach the material and what instructional practices will I use? We then sculpt these two things together, undeniably being the art of teaching! PC-(Pedagogical and Content): What knowledge do I have about teaching practices, and how can I effectively teach the content I have chosen?
The TPACK framework then takes it one step further and forces the teacher to look at how the T-Technology used effects the pedagogy and the content.
TC- (Technology and Content): How does this technology support the content I want to teach? TP- (Technology and Pedagogy): Does the technology support good teaching practices?
TPACK is a wonderful tool to look at, especially when trying to introduce new technology into your classroom! You may be ready to jump in head first with the excitement and possibilities of a new tool, however be sure to take a step back and make sure that it still supports your curriculum and best teaching practices.

"Teaching successfully with technology requires continually creating, maintaining, and re-establishing a dynamic equilibrium among all components." (Koehler & Mishra, 2009)
