5 Critical Mistakes Schools Make With iPads (And How To Correct Them)
From Tom on Edudemic A must read if you are using iPads in your classroom. Edutopia: iPad Apps in the Classroom by Mary Beth Hertz Ms. Hertz does a good job identifying the role of apps as learning tools, how to guide the selection of apps and how to use them as learning tools.
“The IPad AS…..” From edtechteacher-21st Century Learning A very good review of the iPad as a learning tool. They have a great list of learning objectives for use on the iPad in an easy to access table format. Each learning objective is posed as a question: “I want my students to…..” The list is “driven by specific learning goals that promote critical-thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the creation of student centric learning environments.” I am using this list as a reference for choosing movie making apps that I might use in a video project I am about to do with our 6th grade ‘digital buddies’. For a great evaluation of iPad Apps according to Bloom's Taxonomy see Sylvia Rosenthal Tosilano's work at http://langwitches.org/blog/?s=iPad+Blooms and her blog on how to evaluate iPad Apps: http://langwitches.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/iPadAppEvaluation.pdf |
