Sample Lessons from StudySync
StudySync is a cross-curricular, standards-aligned, core literacy program for secondary school ELA instruction. It is one of the adopted NVUSD ELA programs for 6th -12th grades. It contains hundreds of texts, video and multimedia lessons in reading, writing, critical thinking, speaking and listening skills, and collaboration with peer review. It is geared toward preparing students for college and 21st century careers. StudySync provides both digital instruction and print resources.

This district-provided program was a perfect fit for my teaching context at Independent Studies, where students experience a flipped classroom and long distance learning. It was also well suited for the second phase of my driving question and my action research investigation into how to support reading motivation, engagement, and enjoyment.
