Thank you!

I would like to thank everyone who has encourage, supported, listened, and inspired me to go on this innovative learning journey. Thank you Dr. Redmond and the knowledgeable professors at Touro University California Education program. I want to thank Napa Learns for promoting and motivating teachers to embark this 21st century ways of teaching. I also want to thank my peers in the Innovative Learning Masters program, especially Marie Zorn and Jane Gould. Finally, I want to thank my wife for supporting me through out the year to continue trying my best and pushing me to try new things in my classroom for the benefit of my students' education. 

Purpose

We intended to learn about educational models, frameworks, and strategies that work best in order to prepare students for college and career readiness. In my case, a world language classroom. I wanted to implement new things in my Spanish class and share my experiences with them with my colleagues, world language teachers, and educational professionals in order to inspire them to do the same in their classrooms. I hope you implement new technologies in your language classroom and share them with us on this site. 

Next Steps

I began in this innovative journey thinking of cool technology tools to improve my Spanish class and share my experiences with my colleagues. Now that I reflect from the beginning of this program until now, I realize how much I have grown professionally. When I think of technology, I think of 21st century skills, TPACK, needs of my students and my school site. I think of collaboration, and finding credible resources from sites and organizations that promote college and career readiness.  I realized that proper planning and organization before implementation of technology and educational models are essential for effectiveness. Before I started the program, I didn’t know where to start, where to look, and where to get support. Fortunately, the program has shown me the way and enlightened new paths to continue this innovative journey. Now I am towards the end of the master’s program,  I will continue to research, share, and promote 21st century teaching and technology to enhance language learning classrooms.
