7th Grade Science-History Timeline Project

Asking students to be reflective, especially about themselves, is a difficult task for junior high school students. Seizing an opportunity for students to be reflective, the science and history classrooms became tech labs for using on-line timeline creators. Students researched various scientists from history, created a timeline, learned how to use a variety of timeline programs, and then created their own personal digital timeline. 

7th Grade Math-History Castle Project

The goal here was for students to exhibit creativity in the face of limiting resources. Using brown paper bags, and a finite amount and type of tools, students had to create a free-standing model of a Medieval castle. Bringing in both mathematics and history, this project was intended to incite creativity and critical thinking.
