how to coach middle school teachers to teach math with English Language Learners as their main focus.

I worked with the math team at a middle school to implement a plan to review math vocabulary words in math classes.  Teachers met once a week in PLC (Professional Learning Communities) meetings.  They shared digital resources used in the classroom with each other.  They also discussed strategies about how to introduce the vocabulary words in a meaningful way.  In addition to the math team working together, the ELD and AVID Excel teachers worked with me to review math vocabulary words in their classes as well.  This allowed for more time for English Language Learners to review, learn, and experience their math vocabulary words.  These teams worked together to communicate where the math vocabulary words are located and how the two groups of teachers can support each other.
