Math Engagement in the 21st Century Classroom

TPACK for the Engaged Math Classroom

With the new Common Core Math Standards, there is a need for a  pedagogy shift to go along with standards or content shift.  Using technology, we can begin to understand the changes in those shifts in order to design engaging and relevant 21st century learning experiences for our students.

TPACK-   Technical, Pedagogical and  Content Knowledge for Educators
The Common Core State Standards  are bringing changes not only to what we teach (content), but how we teach (pedagogy).  Thinking about these shifts, it is important to recognize the importance of integrating technology in the teaching and learning process.  Technology is an engaging, immediate way for teachers and students to engage in high quality learning.  Heightening the awareness of the availability of technology resources to engage all learners is the key to 21st century learning. Technology brings any day, any time learning to both students and teachers.  The availability of shared technology resources for strengthening learning and engaging students can bring the content and pedagogy together to deliver outstanding learning experiences.
