Council for Exceptional Children Standards

The Council for Exceptional Children has created standards to ensure that professional and paraprofessional staff involved with the education of children with disabilities are well prepared and held to high professional and ethical standards.

The standards cover the areas of ethical principles, special educator and paraprofessional preparation, and evidence based practices, to name just a few. The CEC also publishes a guide to what special educators must know.
