My StudentsThank you to my past students, my present students, and my future students. For without them I would not want to continue my pursuit of knowledge. Getting to know each and every one of them and their needs kept me motivated to find tools that could work in the classroom that would help deepen their knowledge and understanding of English literature.
Cohort 15I've never been a part of an official cohort before. At first, I felt reluctant to have to share anything with them but how could I be working toward understanding how technology effects collaboration and not be a willing participant to those effects? My research did not need to tell me that without this cohort and their help and encouragement, I would have definitely been a lot more stressed out and lost. Their constant advice and guidance has helped me succeed in the program but also in my own classroom as well with their combined years of teaching experience. They've also made every class that more enjoyable to be in. So thanks C-15 Fam!
Touro UniversityWhen I first was given the news that I was admitted to the program, I had two feelings. One, the utmost gratitude to be able to continue to pursue my education and two, an overwhelming sense of anxiety at the idea of handling my first year of teaching and a Masters program all in one. Luckily, I had instructors who helped reduce that sense of anxiety each step of the way by showing me new tools to use in the classroom and by breaking down each task so that the final capstone project did not seem as overwhelming. And for that, I cannot thank my instructors, professors and those who were able to bring this program together. Most importantly, thank you Dr. Pamela Redmond for helping us every step of the way.
Next Steps...My education journey is far from coming to an end. I believe as educators we need to constantly be learning as the world and education are changing around us and we need to be able to keep up with all the new knowledge and advances to be able to give our students the best chance at success. So I plan on continuing my education by pursuing an M.A. in English and will continue to find programs that allow me to explore how to bring innovation into the classroom.
