Overview of research process In order to answer my Driving Question I had to figure out what was my end goal for my research. This answer became my starting point. I knew that I would need to research different strategies that would engage my students, while still giving them the educational reading boost I wanted them to gain. In my research I was able to find some answers to my Driving Question. I found that a small group intervention, Reading log, in class reading time, and online Learning programs were strategies that fit my end goal for my students. I believe that once my students have time to proceed through these different strategies, they would be ready to take the district used assessment ,the SRI and the SPI.

The Scholastic Reading Inventory, and the Scholastic Phonics Inventory, are used district wide as standardized tests. Both tests offer important information about the overall comprehension, fluency and phonics of every student. My infographic below gives an overview of the steps I researched in order to answer my Driving Question. Each step includes a brief description. Stated within the infographic is the reason, or need that I followed to answer my questions from my research. |
