SRI - Scholastic Reading Inventory; this will be given 3-4 times throughout the school year.
SPI - Scholastic Phonics Inventory; This test will be given 3 times over the school year. Reading Log - Signed by parents each night, to ensure the students are reading a minimum of 20 minutes each night. The researcher will set aside 20 minutes each day for quiet reading in the classroom. Small group - The researcher will pull this group of 4 students, 4 times a week, for 30 minutes each meeting. The focus will be on curriculum from the Language Arts Benchmark ELD book. Unit #5 Technology's impact on society, is an example of the work that would be focused on during small group intervention. Each software program will be used for 3 school weeks; five days. Each day the students will have 30 minutes to spend on the software. In the How-to section, there is multiple items of information about how you go about setting up the different activities. Within the reference section, you will find multiple strategy suggestions. Using my researched information should allow you to find the right combination of strategies that could work for your students. There are many technology learning programs included, too.
