Lessons
Because I was working with teachers, the California Common Core standards addressed were based on what the teacher-learners were teaching. During my coaching, I presented a fun way to engage students with technology using Google Slides, Pear Deck, and an engaging dinosaur theme from Slidesgo. The demo lesson below, designed for second grade, addressed the following standards:
During this demo lesson, students had access to digital manipulatives via Pear Deck. I used the Bridges materials for Day 17 of Number Corner and screenshot the images needed. I added text boxes for student responses and kept the pacing quick and rigorous. The 2nd grade teacher-learner stayed on the Zoom to watch my interactions with the students, see the lesson content, technology integration, and learn how to incorporate the 7 Habits within the lesson.
An easy way to incorporate the 7 Habits into lessons without re-creating the wheel, is to use the 7 Habits within your classroom management system. For example, when a student gets immediately to work, praise them for demonstrating Habit 1: Put First Things First. Or if a student is working well within their team, praise them for Habit 6: Synergize. |
