With this Innovative Learning Masters program I feel I have grown so much. I have given myself the opportunity to explore technology tools at a deeper level, and experiment with how I can incorporate technology in a meaningful way into my work. The flipped classroom aspect of this program not only allowed me to grow more as a student, but to have voice and choice in what I wanted to learn more about. The blogging, website creation, and many technology tools we were asked to work with provided me with the opportunity to grow no only as an educator but as a teacher leader.
Next Year and Beyond
I am in a unique position as a District Academic Specialist, and with that comes an opportunity to share my learning on a broader level. A former boss of mine always asked us to "build capacity" with learners, meaning we ideally all work ourselves out of a job. My primary focus in the coming year is to support our Elementary ELA/ELD Teacher Lead groups, in addition to supporting the implementation of a new ELA/ELD adoption for 3-8th grade. Given the budget cuts we have been asked to focus on a professional learning that emphasize blending learning. Using my understanding of how this program was structured, (i.e: The flipped classroom leveraging an iCare, and blogging), I hope to utilize many of these structures for our Lead Teacher groups I facilitate. Additionally, we have a unique opportunity with new curriculum in 3-8th grades to determine how we will use not only the technology tools within their platforms but also leverage technology to enhance these resources in engaging ways.
1. Share/Incorporate TPACK model with Teacher Leader groups and 3-8th Grade teachers implementing new curriculum.
2. Spotlight and utilize resources from this capstone and the many others on Learning Innovation Lab website.
3. Build-in and model at least one new technology tool into Teacher Leader and Academic Specialist meetings. 4. Determine how to utilize Google Classroom with Teacher Leader groups. 5. Continue to refine and practice my use of new technology tools in order to better understand how these tools can support teaching and learning.

Thank you to Napa Learns for supporting Innovative Learning. Without the funding they provide to myself and many other teachers we wouldn't have the opportunity to take our teaching and learning to the next level. Napa Learns provides a through line for supporting innovation, from the teacher to administrator level.
Thank you to Dr. Pamela Redmond and Touro University for having the vision to create a Master program that supports Innovative Learning. A shout out to the committed and inspiring professors in this program, their dedication not only during class time but outside was truly amazing.
Thank you to my fabulous Cohort 11! This group of dynamic teachers inspired and encouraged me to work harder daily. They made the endless nights of work enjoyable, and I look forward to keeping in touch with many of them.
Last, but not least! Thank you to my amazing husband, Scott, and my two children, Mary and Ellie. They have put up with me being "tethered" to the computer for many hours. They have supported me and pushed me, and for that I am thankful.
