Common Core State Standards While we are all aware that Common Core has its deficiencies, it is purposefully very well suited for implementing interdisciplinary units. I believe that combining and connecting different subjects into one unit creates a well rounded and more meaningful learning experience for our students. By showing our students how everything is truly connected we can help them to become critical thinkers and to foster a sense of curiosity and empathy.
But there are a lot of Common Core standards and going through the design process of finding standards that work well together can be time consuming.
