Don't be afraid of imovie. This is an app that is easy to use even for Kindergartners. The only difficulty for them is reading the text box instructions so set up an intermediate buddy class and go for it. I made 1 minute movies with small groups for their position word videos as a first lesson.

This is a general information video, but I thought it might be helpful. You can use the same technique for icon pictures only. Make the pictures into cards to direct students to the apps you want them to use. You will see them used in the classroom set-up slides above.
