NTHS assesses on each of the following five School Wide Learning Outcomes (SWLO's):

  • Knowledge and Thinking ​

Agency
Blogging allows for students seek feedback, see their growth, find personal relevance and monitor their learning. 
Collaboration
Blogging allows students to give and receive feedback with equal participation, respectful tone, and the opportunity to develop the ideas of others.

Written Communication
Blogging allows students to focus on any of the indicators in the rubric, development, organization, and language and conventions. 
Oral Communication
Blogging in a traditional sense does not allow for oral communication; however if we push our thinking of blogging students can post videos to demonstrate clarity and evidence. 
Knowledge and Thinking
Blogging allows students to demonstrate understanding of content as well as problem solving, reasoning and proof, and communication and representation. 
NTHS 9th Grade Team Assessment Norms
As five core teachers and three support teachers embark on the adventure of designing, implementing and assessing interdisciplinary projects for all 9th graders at NTHS, we had to create a cohesive plan for how we assess.  Below are our assessment norms and the grade scale we decided to use as a team.
