Rubrics and Other Measures for Assessing Project Based Learning and Collaboration
Below you will find examples of several different types of collaboration rubrics.
Clear expectations are key to student success. Involving students in creating rubrics for expectations, projects and collaboration increases student by in. The rubric to the right is from The Buck Institute and is a perfect example of the type of rubric you would want to use with lower elementary students. Instead of a rubric that uses numbers, pictures are used to demonstrate expected behavior. The rubric below also uses pictures, thumbs up, down and sideways. These rubrics allow students to self evaluate their level of participation in their group and how well their group is working together. This very basic rubric is perfect for use with younger primary students. They can circle a picture and evaluate their level of participation and the part they played within the group.
