I want to thank Napa Learns for their support in my journey through the Innovative Learning Program. My decision to leap into this deep pool of knowledge was difficult and had many hurtles, but I can already see the ripple effect of higher education and knowledge base on my students and colleagues. The investment in furthering my education and improving my teaching practice through obtaining my masters has touched almost every component of my classroom structure and my philosophy as an educator. I am truly thankful for your support!

A special thank you to Touro University, Dr. Redmond and all my teachers for designing a thoughtful, rigorous, and meaningful set of curriculum and classes that have allowed me to expand on my expertise this past year. Through all the class discussions, research, reading, and challenging assignments I am grateful to be pushed to learn in a blended environment that allowed me to get support while still having a chance to be creative and explore independently. Thank you!

Next Steps
My research in verbalization and vocabulary has broadened my knowledge of effective teaching strategies. This program has shown me that the more you know, the more you can see how much you do not know. I am excited to keep doing classroom based research throughout the school year and to continue to take a hard look at the effects of my teaching strategies. I have designed a lesson structure for my research that is a sustainable way to have students show what they know while giving them a chance to meta-cognate and create something they can be proud of.
I plan to continue modifying my instruction so that students can learn at their own pace by implementing a modified flipped classroom approach. Posting my own instructional videos is something that I started to do this school year, and while it is not possible to have this be an every day occurrence in my classroom, I am planning to integrate this style of learning more and more so that my students can review and learn at any time.
I am also exploring other ways to have students interact with the vocabulary that they need in math in order to understand word problems and continue to be successful in this important subject area. My goal is to continue to integrate vocabulary weekly, with and without technology so students continue to be engaged with the content.
The main components of my research and exploration that gave results and engagement were:
These main outcomes and realizations came through because of the slow and steady evolution of my project. I have experienced first hand how focusing on one issue can bloom into a multifaceted project that has completely changed my approach to designing learning experiences for my students.

The main components of my research and exploration that gave results and engagement were:
- Flipped classroom model- teacher made videos for student utilization
- Student made how to videos with recording verbalization
- Partner feedback to improve the quality of work produced
- Diagnostic and summative assessments to gauge student learning and encourage celebration of success
