Overview

Picture
The purpose of this research was to see to get qualitive and quotative data of students' feelings towards being back in school and to see if the Covid-19 closures had any impacts on the students. I needed to gather data from teachers, parents, and students to get a full picture of how the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns may have impacted the small school district I work at. The school district I worked at has a little over a 50% Hispanic population and the other 50% are students who identify as White/not-Hispanic. Teachers and staff at my district were noticing behavior changes in students. The school averages around 100 students a year from grades Kindergarten to 8th grade. Teachers and staff get to know the students for multiple years allowing teachers and staff to understand and know the students. The average class size is 1 to 20. After the pandemic lock downs and transitioning back to in person learning teacher noticed huge behavior shifts. This can be due to many factors, but I wanted to gather more information.

Using Google Forms to gather data from parents, teachers, SITE Council, and Students to ask about Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Also if SEL would help or is helping the students who are currently at school.
