Using Adobe Spark I brainstormed ideas about how I wanted to begin the creation of my Capstone Website to attract an audience of educators.
SITE Model Analysis
Sociocultural: America represents more differences than similarities today than at any time in the history of education. Every classroom across the world is filled with students of mixed-level or ability learners. Teachers are expected to reach all learners from special education to gifted but are overwhelmed and unprepared to consequently resulting in classroom management issues arising.
With early finishers distracting other students it no longer becomes an equitable learning environment. By providing lessons and ideas that are inclusive where students start and complete a task at the same time, "early finishers" are not engaging in disruptive classroom behaviors.
Technical: Students have access to technology such as iPads, chromebooks and a Promethean all available in the classroom. However, limited access to many online applications due to administrative allowance in an obstacle. Special permission needs to be requested to gain access in individual classrooms. Also teachers are not trained or familiar themselves show the students many of the learning tools that are out there.
On a daily basis students use adopted Language Arts and Math online based curriculum.
Informational: Students' most influential resource is the teacher and their delivery of the information along with having access to online resources, reading textbooks and the given guidelines on how to properly use them to get the most out of their learning.
Students' knowledge of 21st century skills throughout their educational career, being transliterate with informational content and able to present it in a variety of ways will be a large part of how they apply these concepts in life. Lastly, with the impression and the effects of a positive classroom community climate they will show respect to the learning of others in all situations.
My Prototype
The Capstone Prototype Design illustrates the main components I used to answer my driving question.
My Logo
For my logo I wanted to create something that represented students working and coming together by being a piece of something great. Puzzle pieces immediately caught my attention but I had to be careful because puzzle pieces are popular and well known for being the symbol for autism. I didn't want my audience to think my action research was not focused about issues in a general education classroom with my emphasis on behavior and not disabilities so I worked real hard on how I organized the the puzzle pieces that made up my logo.
