My Action Research Project, Data Collection, and Analysis helped me answer the Question: What is the impact of e-binders on student
self-accountability post-pandemic?

Personal Inspiration

First, let me start by saying that I am held responsible for the safety and academic growth of every student in my class. I do not take that responsibility lightly. Finding ways to improve student outcomes is always on my mind. I must be at my best to accomplish my goals and find innovative ways to push me and my students forward. When thinking of a question, I knew my action research would come from the understanding that I wanted my students to invest as much as I did in their education. I want to empower my students by leading them to understand their progress by tracking their attendance, behavior, and academic growth data.

Research

The following are excerpts from my research paper:

Abstract
Student engagement within the classroom has presented a challenge for direct instruction. One common concern for K-5 teachers is the growing number of chronically absent students post-pandemic. The school in this study has seen an uptick in students missing more instructional days and lacking engagement for students needing more direct instruction. With more instructional school days cut, more substantial learning gaps are forming, resulting in more students identified as needing Response to Intervention plans or requests for Special Education placement. Teachers and administrators rely heavily on parent involvement and commitment to bringing their students to school. This study proposes to engage students to participate in their education by monitoring their attendance, behavior, and academic growth data.
