Research has supported that students should be held accountable for their learning. But when does this level of accountability begin? I am an upper elementary teacher. I have always had a pedagogy that develops an environment that supports student self-accountability. I am committed to improving the lives of my students academically as well as emotionally. I have come across outstanding research and models for an essential component used in collaboration with what I have used to support everyday learning in my classroom. Below are units and lessons cultivated by those understandings and models.
