Who was this study for?I started off doing this to help my students perform better at push-ups during the physical fitness testing. As I started to look how the study was going I knew I could do more than just work on improving performance. After talking to Dr. Redmond and Dr. Curtis, we came to the idea of adding global feedback to my study. In the first rounds of action research I had students and their peers grade themselves using video analysis, but that was not enough. I decided to get connected with a colleague in France. By making this connection I was able to have my students send film of themselves performing push-up to his students in Paris and they gave my students feedback. This increased the amount of feedback each student was getting while giving them a chance to communicate and collaborate with students they would usually never interact with.
So you can see the evolution of my action research over the course of this year. I know I have had some success, but it is just the start. I hope to continue to make small tweaks to my action research and see if I can improve the study more than I have already. I would like to continue to have my students communicate with their global peers and maybe they can start to teach/learn things from each other. Videos that were made during my time in the programThe film above talks about how I brainstormed for my first action research.
The film above talks about Pebble-in-the-Pond Model and how I incorporated it into my action research.
Prototype (Website Design)Above is the prototype that I used to while making my website. This was done at the beginning stages of the process, so you can see the growth that I made when it comes to making this website.
