Teacher Librarians provide an irreplaceable role in the assessment phase of a project. Collaboratively setting expectations with the classroom teacher for the desired outcome of the finished product allows for multiple perspectives of student understanding of the skills taught, rather than just that of the classroom teacher. The TL approaches the assessment from the lens of technology, research strategies, and selection of materials while the classroom teacher, who is the expert in the subject area, looks at the student understanding of the subject content.
