21st Century Learning and Workforce Readiness
Although, as Sir Ken Robinson says, we are preparing students for jobs that don't yet exist, we do know that employers are looking for employees who can collaborate and communicate effectively, think critically about their tasks, and color outside the lines when necessary. Stephan Turnipseed, former President of Lego Education North America, says it best: "Bottom line is, we need leaders and innovators who can think critically and creatively, work collaboratively and communicate across cultures, time zones and ZIP codes. We need to support both students and educators so that their learning experience is relevant, rigorous, and valued. I know that working together we can ensure we make the best use of our most precious resource, and make sure that learning continues to be alive and well."
